Circle of Darkness: Arena

Information Sheet
Circle of Darkness: Arena is a game developed by Larry Mak in 1998. It was done when he decided (for whatever reason) that he needed to learn PERL. It took him about three days of learning and coding together to finish the game. Consequently he balanced the game a little more, as well as added in new features. In a short week, everyone in his high school tried it, or heard of it.

How did it evolve to how it is today? The players did it. Simply speaking, a few players would keep requesting changes, and Larry did what he thought was cool. Of course, this doesn't always make for balanced game play, but the game was fun. One subtle example is the clan system.

The tournament edition came a little later, and have its own information sheet, which hardcore fans should check out.
